Anyone looking at Jacks car fire on the other site remember this photo was
taken some 2 1/2 miles from the finish line where it started. The back of the
car was almost melted off when it stopped. The fire was difficult to put out
as the rear section was all one piece except fot the small engine cover. There
was no battery cutout switch and even after the fire was out the water pumps
and other things were still running.
Also the chute did not come out. This becomes a long ride and the driver don't
always know how bad it is behind him. Thanks to people like Chris and Ed who
were right there to assist.
