The area the course is laid out depends on the amount of good salt to run
on. We have a very small envelope to do this. The angle and the distance
depends on how much rain and what the salt lay down each year gives us. We
have run in the same general area since the beginning. As Dan stated this is
the low spot and the best salt. The outer areas are thin and muddy. The
addition of the mud dykes for farming the pot ash from the salt has cut down
the south and east portions considerably. For you first timers don't go
driving off to the sides and get buried up to your axles. It's a long walk
and the tow is expensive.
