Dan,
According to my recollections, when we ran the two way averages in the
early morning, the speeds were generally higher than the qualifying
speeds. I remember one in particular...Bob Jonecke's (sp) D Gas
Roadster. He set a record that he said he could not qualify against, he
never did. I believe that the cooler air, if properly adjusted for, will
make the HP to more than overcome the added resistance created by it.
