There are two 'missing' British names from this group. As Keith pointed
out one is Sir Malcolm Campbell (first over 300 mph) but also missing is
John Cobb whose 1947 record at Bonneville was just under 400 mph although
his best one way was the first official 403 mph run. Since then this club
has acknowledged three Britons efforts (two thrust powered), but
interestingly none set their records on Bonneville.....indeed only two ever
drove there in their race cars.
