Josh,

You found the right spot to learn a tremendous amount about land speed
racing.

There are a couple of Bonneville racers in your area who are on this list.
I'm sure that the Carson City/Reno area has others.  I'd be very surprised
if you don't hear from them soon.
  
Check out the www.saltflats.com web site for information on the 130 Club and
150 Club.  That's a great way to get acquainted with salt flats racing.
