Keith is right 8000' feet really isnt enough paved surface (for a one mile
course). And he 's talking about a 200 MPH car. 10,000' is very doable, but
12,000' would be ideal. LSR vehicles typicaly seem to lack adaquate braking
systems. Why?... Anyway if someone wants to run 250 or try for 300 MPH there
needs to be sufficient shutdown area. Going form pavement to dirt for the
shut down would probably be OK, but maybe a little tricky to handle,
especially for scooters.

Seems that Turner AFB, south of Atlanta, had a 12,500' runway for B-52's,
but Miller Brewing bought the property and dug up all of the runway.
