G'day maties
Just back from Lake Gairdner, salt was excellent so hard infact there were
zero rooster tails and almost zero salt pickup ,it was our biggest meet to
date 45 vehicles ran many were first timers , fastest run was Lynch;s A/BFL
belly tank with a 289.something, infact almost everyone beat there speeds from
last year Rod Hadfields AA/FALT posted a 249 before the clutch let go ,Chuck
Sharpe from the states ran his V4/GMR with a 125.050 any one on the list know
Chuck ? Stuart Lappin upped his world record for the 650 P-P with a 169 this
bikes a freak and a 189 on the Bussa which came out of the wreckers only 2
weeks ago I ran some licencing passes on this bike up to 175 ( the zx12 was a
no show) the talk at least among the bike guys was a 1929 four valve head
Indian which ran an astounding 160 mph in the 1350 M/VG class its actual
capacity was 1200cc blew the Vincents into the weeds . Lots of streamliners
under construction and things are lookin good .
I was thrown in the deep end and became assistant scrutineer this year as the
scrutineer could not make it and will be the motorcycle scrutineer at next
years meet, all the down under racers send a BIG G,DAY to all of our friends
in states.
I've ploughed through all of the postings backlog , a bloke ( Pilot ) at the
meet wanted to know if I was interested in buying a small wind tunnel world
war two vintage which used a DC3 motor and prop as the motive force he brought
it for the said motor.
Finally Mayf mate desperatly in need of info on ground effect and flat
bottomed streamliners
Gary all fired up again with a big silly grin on his dial Get more from the
