For those of you looking for an alternative fuel cell drain system, I
decided today to go with a new product made by Aeroquip which is a snap
fitting they make for a "quick connect" oil drain plug. The idea is that
you can quick connect or snap connect a drain hose to your oil drain
plug and drain out the pan without any spill which looks pretty neat.
I'm using a similar product to switch between fuel cells now (alcohol
and gas)on the T'Bird. The factory rep said he would assume it would
work for petrol also. Don't have the part number handy but if anybody
wants it, contact me or any Aeroquip dealer.

I'm glad you asked that question. I was going to "solve" my problem by
installing a four gallon fuel cell behind my right front headlight and
stop using the stock gas tank. The cell is already plumbed with two
fuel feed lines on the bottom, and two return/vent lines on the top. I
only need one feed line, so I was going to put a drain cock on the
second fitting. Is this going to work?

On that question, has anybody plumbed in a drain valve for their gas
tank? Can
that be done for a cell as well?
Of course it has to be safe and positive, but especially with
occasionally driven
cars, it seems to make sense even for draining any contaminants etc.
