Mayf.... we're both in basic agreement with you.... 540hp was way down from
what we expected.... BUT the one thing we know is that this motor is doing
this at a much lower RPM and it should do it reliably for extended periods
of time.... it's not a Drag motor.... it's a Bonneville Motor... and that
was the goal.... 540hp is a bunch more then I had with my cast iron motor
and quite honestly I have ZERO fear of this things bottom end being over
stressed at 800hp.... ( I'm knocking on several pieces of wood as I speak )
I'm pretty sure the motor has the butt to squeek out a gas record.... but
ONLY and MAYBE.... not with the confindence of what I'm about to say....
800hp that stays together for the whole course is MORE then enough to set a
record in my car. That simple.... now you have to have a car that goes
straight and is totally ready to race.... OUTTA the Trailer... not on Day
three of speedweek...

Boy.... I wish it was as easy to get a Red hat as it is to say your going
to....

that will happen when it happens... in the mean time I'm going to have fun
doing it....

Keith
