Hi Folks,

at first - nothing against Mickey - he done so much for the Hot Rod that it's
doesn't matter what's up with this 406 run - he would be so or so a real hero.

Some notes to the 406 run.

first problem, which time slip - there is no one and there was never one - due
to this, that the FIA officials was sent home the day before, to the
information
from witness I talked - there was not any other time keeper from an official
organisation there out on this day.

John Cobb runs in 1947 with a car from 1937 was one way 403 (o nis return run)
- but official was his average from 394 - if he turned again around, he would
have no problem to go as first a 400 average - but Cobb was not interest in
this
- so or so the average was good enough to stay to 1964 - when the first time a
wheel driven car broke the record. the first piston was 1965.

Donald Campbell - the Blue Bird never shows his real potential.
When he crashed in 1960 (7 days after Mickey done the 406) he runs around 360
after only 1.6 miles...
When he set the record in 1964 he used a only 7 miles long track, with very bad
and deep grooves crossing the track in the middle of the measured mile - he
went
out of the measured mile (means, after 4 miles) with a final speed off 445.

What was possible if Donald got a 11 mile track as Bonneville to this time....

See Don Vesco - how long did he need to get the record under the official rule..
...damn long.

Don't forget one think not, Mickey was not only a great Hot Rodder ... he was
also a journalist and PR man.

See ya
