Hello all!
We (the professional racing nanny, Ron the spouse, Baby Carmen, and I) just
got home this morning from the salt. It was an adventure having a 7 week old
baby with us this year, but I must admit she did well.
As for running our new car, we accomplished all that we intended to this
Speed Week. My dad & I had the goal of gettting seat time in it and earning
up to our A licenses, both goals were accomplished. He ran a top speed of 219
on the long course and I ran 212 on the short course (What a ride! It sure is
different than the '39 coupe.) So, next time out running we hope to work
toward some record setting action!
Now for those who didn't see our new ride...well, we have a modified roadster
that is running in the C/GMR class, no it doesn't have a Jimmy in it yet. My
dad purchased it late last year and asked me to keep it a secret so we could
surprise everyone at the salt (boy, was everyone surprised)! What a hard
secret it was to keep because I was so excited about it. The car was
originally built by Jerry Kuegal as a Rod & Custom project car in 1969, then
Gordon Hoyt had it, and the last owner before us was Glenn Miller.
Congrats go out to Jim Ton's son Patrick for earning a red hat! And, I saw
Turbo Rick in the impound practically everytime I drove by. Sorry, if I am
missing others but I didn't catch up with as many friends as I usually do
because of the needs of dear Carmen.

P.S. Let me give a BIG thanks to the German photographer who found and
returned my brand new driving boots, please pass that on if any of you know
him. (Let's just say I got distracted and drove back to town with them on
the roof of the Blazer, and he luckily he found them at the merging of the
salt and pavement that night.)
