Mayf;
Quite a few cars have the battery in the cockpit as long as it
is a gel or dry. Mine is inside ( it is an Optima), but it is
in a box as all bateries can break open in a crash, even if
there is no liquid in it, I don't want it on me. I tried a dry
cell, but it died after a year, sent it back on warrenty, and
they sent me another. It only lasted about a year befor it
died too. An off-road racer friend had a Panther dry cell in
his race "Jeep" and it only lasted one race. We surmise that
possibily vibration killed our batteries. On the other hand, I
can't say enough about Optimas. I first put one in the Vette
in '96 (no charging system) and changed it out 3 years later
"just to be sure". I put it in my Jeep & it is still going
strong!
Ed (where it's gotta be just as ot as Pahrump; 110 today)
