JOY SUMMERS

wife of land speed racer Bill Summers (Goldenrod)
passed away early this morning (October 23, 2002) at her home in Ontario
Bill and her family were with her.

Joy had been hospitalized over the past couple months suffering from a
series of small strokes.
However, in the end, it was heart failure took her from this life. She
leaves behind a heartbroken, grieving husband and five grown children. Most
recently, Joy assisted in production of the 2001 SCTA/BNI Bonneville Program
selling advertising and had long been a supporter of the sport in many ways.

Bill and his late brother, Bob, were the force behind the amazing Goldenrod
Streamliner that set a World Land Speed Record of 409 MPH in 1965 at
Bonneville using 4 Chrysler Hemi engines. In recent years, Joy and Bill
operated a exhibit delivery trucking firm and made special appearances
around the world with Goldenrod.

The family has requested, in lieu of flowers,
that donations be made to Joy's favorite charity:
El Mirage Ladies Auxiliary

Memorial Services will be held:
