How much power are you going to apply and what rpm. Years ago when I was
building airboats I prefered the aluminum props because the are more efficient
and trouble free. You probably already know that a long prop turning slower is
better than short and fast. Since you don't have the problems that a long prop
creates in an airboat, I would encourage you to lean in that direction. If you
do that with a standard aircraft prop, you will be applying far less power than
the prop was designed for and should never have a problem.
