You have pointed out all the reasons why it is a poor choice for racing.. Other
than the 4 valves per cylinder that is.. 

Lets see long long stroke so no rpm.. HP is rpm related..
Very heavy for the amount of power
Uses Metallurgy from the 30's
hard starting
poor ignition system
The best it ever did was 1.7 hp/cu supercharged with turbo compound..
Are rare collectors items for use in vintage airplanes..

This thing is easy to beat with 1/3 the displacement and less than 1/2 the
weight..
If I could not get 2500 hp from a 550 inch chevy and turbos I think it is time
to turn the lights out and call it a day..
