4, 1/8" pipe couplers cut in half will fill the bill. Believe 2 to 3" from the
head is about right.

So the headers are pulled and laying on the floor since the engine's
coming out this week. I realize I can weld on bungs for EGT sensors. I
may never use them, but it's an easy time to do it. Might as well put in
8, but where on the pipe? Is 1-2 inches from the exhaust flange too
close? Would be pretty convenient for access. I searched the archive for
any mention on location but didn't find what I wanted.

I also remember mention of a cheap pipe fitting that could be used
rather than buying specially machined bungs. Couldn't find that either.
