The following are Yooper* Computer terms;

Log On:         Adding wood to the stove to make it hotter

Log Off:                Don't add wood

Monitor:                Keep an eye on the wood stove

Download:               Unloading firewood from the pickup

Mega Hertz:             Your toes when you're not careful downloading

Floppy disk:    What you get from carrying too big a stick of wood

RAM:                    The hydraulic thingy that makes the wood splitter work

Hard Drive:             Getting home during the mud season

Prompt:         What you wish the mail was during the mud season

Windows:                What to shut when it's thirty below

Screen:         What you need for black fly season

Byte:                   What black flies do

Chip:                   What to munch on

Microchip:              What's left in the bag when the chips are gone

Infrared:               Where the chips go when cousin Fred is around

Modem:          What you do to them hay fields

Dot Matrix:             That good-looking farmer's wife, down the road

Keyboard:               Where you hang your keys

Software:               Plastic eating utensils

Mouse:          What's eating the horse's grain in the barn

Main Frame:             The part of the barn that holds up the roof

Enter:          Come on in!

Random Access Memory:   Why you can't remember the price of that new rifle
when your wife asks.


*Yooper:  A denizen of the Upper Peninsula (that's way up north) of Michigan
