MIG Welders

I'm thinking of buying a MIG welder. What should I be looking for as far 
as features? I'm going to be using it for chassis/hot rod related work 
so I'll be doing nothing thicker than 3/16". How many amps should I look 
for? What additional features? Are any brands better than others?

Any help appreciated.
