Just days after the serious business of Bonneville Speedweek Britain held a
day of speed for Milk Floats. The electric milk delivery vehicles ran on
the concrete airfield of Bruntingthorpe Near Leicester in the centre of
England.

Two teams took part - one had a Hot Rodded 'Classic' Milk Float originally
built in 1954 and the other used a modern 2003 vehicle.

Speed for the 'Dream Team' '54 Float was an average of two runs at 47.61
mph. Speed for the 'Bluebird XDV' team was an average of 72.75 mph.

The event was sanctioned to rules of the World Milk Float Speed Association
(WMFSA).
website is www.wellingtonfilms.co.uk

(There are other Milk Float sites if you feel the need to search for them!)

The next landmark is 75 mph with talk of 100 mph in the future too.
