Babs as you know was recovered, rebuilt and returned to running order with
new parts. It has been giving demonstration runs and even competing in
historic race events in the configuration of the 20's!
The chain was probably removed from the sprocket by a broken spoke in the
wire wheels - which was of course a very hard piece of steel. The accident
was happening before the chain came loose and the accident survivability of
a brave driver was always going to be in doubt.
The 27 litre Bentley of Graham Moss is true to that same period and does
not feature roll cage or seat belts - so you will not see it at any
SCTA/BNI events!
