Bill.... The article was well written and represented HIS point of view. It
is easy to argue it... and Dan and I have enjoyed a sprited conversation
about his article as he let me see it last month... We didn't share our
conversations with the list because not many folks here really care about it
one way or the other...

If your idea of land speed racing is that it's got to remain true to it's
roots or the way it was in X year... his article is spot on... but if you
really go back to the ultimate purpose of this sport which is to explore the
outter edges of technology and truly have the fastest vehicle within the
scope of what technology is avalible today.....

I can see the logic on both sides of this topic... but remember the topic
isn't traction control.... it's where do you want to draw the line in the
salt when it comes to technology...

The real question in my mind is WHY? Why would someone NOT want to employ
the best and latest information? Why would someone force themselves to be
handicapped by the past? Why is there a need to force your views on the
rest of the competitors ( I'm speaking from an organizer's view ) WHY NOT?

That was my question... and my opinion... Dan and I not only had a spirited
conversation but we both agreed to disagree on the topic .... again I liked
his article and his ability to vocalize his point of view.
