Interesting thread.....I will be installing a Stroud chute on the roadster in
the next week or so.  Bob Stroud says his chute opens softer than the others,
so the mounting point isn't quite as critical.

I drove up to OK City a couple of years ago, and got the chute, belts, roll
bar padding, fire suit (they measure you there), shoes, gloves and a
transmission blanket.  Great place to do business, but his daughter really
runs the show.

  Just finished talking to Bob Stroud. He said effectively the same thing.
  Draw a line between the center of the parachute and the car's center of
  gravity.
  Attach the parachute somewhere along that line.
