The Banks truck was trailered to Wendover and then "drove" in towing a
trailer....
Does any one know if another car has driven as far as the 553 Roadster did
this year to set a record over 200? They drove from Pomona, California, To
the
salt, which MapQuests out to 606 miles minus a forty mile stealth trailer
trip
to avoid an ever vigilant Nevada Highway Cruiser in Alamo, NV. The Gail
Banks truck was rumored to have accomplished this feat, but other sources say
they
only drove from Wendover. I remember a dark colored 53 Stude that did over
200 with the air on, but don't know if they set a record and also drove it to
the great white dyno.
