Not too terribly so on the OHC motor - removing the cams or even just
taking off the timing belt (the latter not an option on some zero
tolerance motors where the valves stuck open on other cylinders would
hit the pistons) would allow you to deactivate the valves, and are
fairly accessible, being on top of the motor (all you have to do is
pull the valve cover)

Just make sure you have the tools to degree and reinstall the cams
available (I've read plenty of articles about people swapping their
DOHC's between runs, never tried it myself thought)
