Thanks, I misunderstood the phrase "helmet strap"; I thought it was a
new requirement for a head restraint like a HANS device.
As Roseanne Rosannadana used to say on Saturday Night Live, "Oh, that's

It's a horizontal piece (1/8 x 1 minimum) extending at about ear-level
from the rear hoop to the front hoop, just like what's already on most
roadsters, etc. as far as I know. The only issue is that the rules
don't say it only applies to them...
