This site at the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department of Drexel

has some good basic information on gasoline.

Bill Edwards told me that all a turbocharged Bonneville motor cares only about 
Motor Octane
and I'm not aware that has changed in the last 40 years.
Am I missing the boat here Dave?
