Come to think of it Mayf, you don't care about the heat produced or absorbed
in the brake either.  All you want to do is apply a resisting force to the
crank to cause the engine block to react to it. You are measuring only this
reaction of the block.  You could care less about how much energy (or what
kind) is used or wasted in grabbing that crank.  You are only measuring the
twist produced by the block and the rpm that it occurs. -Elon
