Keith;

Mustang II front suspensions are pretty good but those little brake
rotors are not up to the job on a hot rod or a kit car.

Fortunately, those little rotors can be pulled off and bigger rotors
from a mid- 80s Dodge Aspen, Chrysler Cordoba, etc., can be slipped
right on to the Mustang II spindles without any modifications whatever.
Even the wheel bearings are identical. This is because Kelsey- Hayes
made brake parts for Chrysler Corp under contract back in those days.

You'll need to make a very simple adapter to mount the Mopar sliding
calipers but the mods are well worth the (little) effort. Put in a set
of Performance Friction Carbonmetallic pads and you're all set to stop
on a dime.

I have a photo or two that I can e- mail off- line if you (or anyone)
are interested.

Regards, Neil Tucson, AZ

Been having street rod type thoughts for a while and really didn't
want
the average deal... so I bought a 47 Willys wagon to have something cool
as a
daily driver... it's been street rodded up front with a 302, C4, and a
Mustang
II front suspension... Nothing fancy trust me...
...
First impressions.... Wellllllll lets hope it gets better... there are
pogo
sticks in the back that resemble Shocks.... matter of fact it would be a
great
place to put a set of shocks...there's some there already that look just
like
them...... Mustangs didn't have much for brakes... or at least I've
owned
Healeys that braked better.... ( with no fluid in them )....

But other then that it runs and drives.... maybe someday it will support
the
Aluminum open trailer for Maxton trips.... ( you know the one that's not
built
yet... )

Keith
