That airfield is now owned by the county as a comercial enity---their long
range plan is to turn it into an airfreight field---ther are several airfreight
operators from Houston that are thinking of relocating---waiting on the new
Interstate Hwy. that will run from Mex. to Canada---it will pass not far North
of Houston...The stat of Tx installed a new ILS system---the Navy mostly shoots
approaches---it USE to be a BOUNCE strip for them
