One thing I have learned from having HPC Hypercoat on the headers of my
VW convertible is that the coating prolongs header life measurably.
The thermal fatigue cracking I experienced on the first set I installed
happened within a year of the installation. The last set has been
going for nine years with no leaking at the welds. This has been a
daily driver until three years ago. The Hot Rod article talks about
thermal coatings very favorably. The one thing they don't discuss is
the quality of the job to begin with.
