The 500 X 5 tires are rated at 300 MPH with 1000 pounds of load.

HOWEVER
I have heard reports of some chunking on a number of cars of varying weights
and speeds.

I think those are the same tires that Lloyd Healey thought were "chunking"
at about 200 on his electric streamliner. The tires were actually "growing"
into the body work. I don't remember how much clearance he had.
