Hi Ed -I live in Oakville( just outside of Toronto for you southerners) and
have been going to Maxton once a year since 2000.It takes us about 17 hours to
get there but then we are towing our car. There are a couple of routes you can
take ,all of which are nice drives. The ECTA is a great group of people who
will help you tremendously with making your car go fast.Get the rule book-so
you can comply with the rules. I'd put a roll cage of some kind in it-cause
once you are there you are going to wanna go faster-it is addictive.I enjoy
every moment there, there is no better company where . If I can help in any
way lemme know. Scott

Hi guys

Just signed up for membership to this group. I'm thinking about
heading down for an event with one of my cars, a 95 Thunderbird
Super Coupe (factory Eaton-blown 3.8 V6). It's just a street car
with some power bolt-ons, and suspension and brake upgrades. It
gets beat on at the drag strip a few times a year, and I also do
some open-track events with it as an instructor for a few of the car
clubs up here ... I live just outside of Toronto.

Maxton looks to be around 850 miles according to Yahoo Maps, but I'm
not afraid of driving the car and whaling on it. In 2005, the Super
Coupe Shootout drag race event was in Oklahoma City, and the car
made it there and back with no troubles. No roll bar, so I would be
running in the non-record 135 mph class. It's a pretty strong car
up top, with good aero, so I'd hope to see around 130 in the
mile ... currently it traps at ~ 95 - 97 mph in the 1/4 mile, and
it's getting an extra infusion of power this spring.

Anyway, hopefully Maxton will fit in to my plans for 2007, we'll see
how it goes. Sounds like it would be a fun event, with a bunch of
cool vehicles and people.

cheers,
Ed Nicholson
