Those photos reminded me ...

Earl Holding owns Sinclair. He also owns the Grand America Hotel in
Salt Lake City, the Little America hotels in Salt Lake, Cheyenne, the
other one out in nowhere in Wyoming and a luxury one in San Diego. He
owns Snow Basin ski area out of Ogden, Ut. and bought the Sun Valley
resort a few years ago. He owns Sinclair, Wyoming which is just a
refinery and a few workers homes. I list those properties because it
puts into perspective the fact that the Sinclair stations in the photos
look like active stations, un-restored, not updated, just pumping out
the gas ... and people wonder how he got to be so rich.

For what it's worth, the best steak in Salt Lake City isn't at Ruth's
Criss ... it's at the Little America in the steak house next to the
coffee shop. Earl likes a good steak!
