I would add a vent; preferably the same size as the feeds from the fuel 
pump. You can't get the fuel out if you can't get air in to replace it.. 
Easy enough to do if it has one of those large  caps. Remember to cross the 
vent line to prevent spillage in case of a rollover...Good Luck.
