If you are still running win98 you do need to look to upgrade. Not for 
speed but to protect you system.
98 is no longer supported so no bug up dates to stop you PC from being 
atacted.
For most system if they  are older than 12months wipe the HDD and reload 
OS will speed things up a lot.
