Hi, i've got a question about my engine.First it seems to be very high
preassure
in the crankcase, if i remove the dipstick and rev the engine, oil splashes
out of
the dipstick tube.when i had the new gearbox fitted last year in england
they
told me at the garage that some b-engines do that...it does not take any or
very little oil between oil changes, any suggestions?
The engine also sounds like a london taxicab (diesel).but i've checked the
valve clearences and they're ok,worn camshaft, camshaft followers or what???
i'm greatful for all suggestions.

My '71 GT did that once. While driving through Wisconsin in minus 24 degree
weather, the breather connection between the front tappet inspection cover
and the carbs became obstructed as condensation inside the pipe froze and
blocked it. The crankcase became pressurized and it blew oil out the
valve-cover breather to the tune of one quart per 60 miles. There is
supposed to be a slight vacuum in the crankcase - not pressure. ' Guess
I'm speaking only of "Federalized" EPA-era cars - but even early models
have to breathe.

My '37 Plymouth also did that once - I had blown a hole in a piston! '
Guess you'd know if that was the problem - it would be missing pretty
badly.

' Hope this helps. Good luck.
