Mine used to do that too ('72 B). Reach under the dash with the car running
and fiddle with the wires at the rear of the tach. If you get the same thing
you simply have a loose connection there. If I remember, there might even be
a knurled nut connecting one of the wires that you can tighten gently with
pliers. Good luck.
