either that or the buick v6...The V8 is the lighter of the 2 and is lighter
than the original 4 cylinder ..so your handling won't be affected..

As somebody said before go for a late model range rover or SD1 motor..the
newer the better...

The original v8 is fairly forward and high up so bonnet clearance is tight..
thats why the factory v8's came out with wierd..air cleaners..a low profile
manifold with say a holley should fit ok...The EFI off a late model rover
may not fit under the bonnet...

from what I've seen the standard chassis should be ok...unless you go crazy in
the HP area..

Unsure...but maybe some anti-tramp devices could extend the life of both
the gearbox and the diff...not MGB experience here...but a highly modified
Ford Escort I used to have would break 1st and 2nd gears if I got axle tramp..
Problem solved by putting in a simple 2 link rear end...
