well chosen 185s do work, some of the challange here is that every tire mfg.
sizes a bit differently...the ones that work are "small for their size"
relatively, and have relatively rounded and treaded tread-to-sidewall areas.
(mine work great! they're a Toyo performance HR rated tire)
Regarding your doors, I doubt if your sills are the problem. Likely your door
latch hardware is worn to the point of not gripping like the old days. (been
there, fixed that...)
in the "that's not a bug, it's a feature" department... Just consider them to
be automatic doors, or perhaps English Cornering Force Indicators!
