Kevin...

The only product you mention that I know to be available in the US is Waxoyl.
Even though I am
fortunate enough to live where it's fairly dry, I succumb to the therory that
"there's no such thing as a
rust free MG". Now, I'm a fair mechanic, but body and fender work, expecially
rust repair is out of
my line. So I worry about it.

I'm posting this to the MG list in hopes that others out there can tell me if
any of the products you
mention are available here.

As far as "Fitting Datsun engines & outrageous carburettors" are concerned:
Being strickly an MGist,
the only engine conversions I really think are legitimate is the MGB - Rover V8
conversion. It's
tollerable, when building specials, to use some other type of power unit I
suppose but using Non-lbc
engines in lbc's is not for me. So I don't understand it either. As far as
outrageous carburettors go,
well, this falls into the same catagory as high lift - long duration camshafts,
larger dia. - high
compression pistons, free flow performance exaust systems and other go fast
goodies. Being an MG
driver for well over 30 years I fully understand the quest to improve
reliability and performance this
way.

Thanks for the information. I appreciate it.
