In a recent post Graham McCann indicated that Webers give poor idle and use
lots of fuel. I don't know what Webers he has used but the down draft setup I
bought from Moss idles at 600 rpm very nicely and on a recent trip of about
2,000 miles it achieved 32 mpg. I have not heard of many MGs with the original
carb setup doing much better than this. I can also accelerate with the dual
SU types quite respectably. If his comment refers to side draft it may well
hold but the down draft setup works well for me.
