John,

My reaction would be to get onto one of the vinyl repair specialists.  They
weld a replacement piece in so well you would not know it was ever holed.
Such a service is not expensive. The cheaper solution is to buy a vinyl
repair kit from the auto shop.  The glue in the pack will weld the material
but you will need to get a small piece of black vinyl from somewhere to fill
the hole.
