Hello all and thanks for the advice so far,

As you may recall my brother recently attempted to kill my MGB.

In response to my What to do request I have received replies
ranging from complete rebuild to just replace the rod bearings. After
learing a few more thing I have decided to take the rod bearing
approach.

1st. The original motor is currently in the midst of a complete
rebuild and will hopefully be ready by summer.

2nd. I need something to drive between now and then.

        3rd. Rod bearings are cheap.

4th. This crank already has been reground. In fact this leads
me to my search for parts.

5th. My local mechanic/advisor has convinced me that one of
the purposes of bearings is to give their lives before major damage is
done to the rest of the motor.

On to my parts quest. The bearings that were on the motor were
.40 over. Where do I get these. Everyone has .30 over, but nothing
larger. Any of the list members in Europe heard of bearings in this size?

Please let me know if any can find a source. My local parts guy
(the same mechanic/advisor mentioned above) is down to his last source
without any luck.

        Thanks in advance
