Thanks to everyone who helped to diagnose the ignition problem. I hate to say
anything bad about Lucas parts (HA!) but since replacing the brand new LUCAS
SPORTS COIL with my old Bosch blue coil, I haven't had any problems (after
about 300 miles this weekend). This may or may not be an isolated incident.
For future reference, though, if your engine dies suddenly, with no
sputtering like you would have from a fuel problem, and you have power to the
ignition, think coil - not zebras. Being stranded in rush hour traffic sucks.
