The title says it all. For the first time in a 4 year restoration
the odometer on my B (and the car attatched to it) moved on its own
accord. Dogs barked, kids ran, and there was much rejoicing!

Late last night I backed <as yet unnamed> out of the garage and
took a brief jaunt around the neighborhood. Wow. I hadn't driven
a British convertible since high school (ok, ok, I confess- it was
a Spitfire. Forgive me Denise, for I have sinned...) Boy, I had
forgotten just how much fun these things are.

As I re-arranged the cars (MG safely in garage, Accord in driveway ;-)
I couldnt help but notice the stark contrast between the two: one
has a steering wheel that actually provides feedback and a gearstick
that pokes right up out of the gearbox. And that unmistakable smell
of hot oil. Not that the H*nda isnt a good car- its just not an MG.

After a ten year LBC hiatus, that 5 minute drive brought it all back
in a rush. So to all of the folks here with cars amid restoration,
keep chipping away at it. It really IS worth it in the end.
Off to Carlisle tomorrow in search of those last few trim bits.
