A broken throtte cale is now at the top of the list as the most chronic
running problem on my MGA. Happens about every 15,000 miles like clockwork.
It breaks off 1/4" from the leaded fitting end at the driving arm trunnion
inside the passenger compartment.

It's usually not a big deal when it happens on the road. I just pull out the
spare cable and tools and I'm under way again in about 8 minutes. It is,
however, a bit discouraging when it happens at the start line of an autocross
or in the middle of a timed road rally. A new cable is only about $7 and I
can usually repair a broken one once or twice before it gets too short.

Now having gone through 3 new cables and about 6 rebuilt ones in the last 10
years, I'm about motivated enough to do something constructive. Does anyone
have any suggestions for how to cure this problem once and for all?
