blow-by?

Hi all. Well, I got the new head gasket on the Midget.
This let me see the real problem alot better. I _think_
I have a blow-by problem. after the car runs for 5 minutes
or so, what I would call a "significant" amount of exhast
gas comes out the valve cover tube. Plug this up, and oil
starts spitting out the dipstick hole. Now, I'm not sure
how much exhaust gas usaually comes out the valve cover,
but I can't imagine recycling that much back to be burned
(that is my understanding of it anyhow).

Now here is the confusing part... When the car first starts,
no problem. 60 psi oil pressure and little exhaust gas out
the valve cover. Oil pressure steadily drops and volume of
gas out the valve cover increases. Is a blow-by problem
usually a function of time, or is it immidiatly obvious
upon starting the car? Now for the tricky part... I'm not
sure if I have a cooling problem. I noticed that the water
in the radiator overflow (metal one) didn't seem to be
moving. If this is the case, could it be a problem of the
oil heating up way too hot (loss of pressure) and being
too thin to seal the rings right (blow-by)? Please help,
I go back to school soon and really want to take this car
with me.
Thanks,
Keith Collins

P.S... Can anyone reccomend a good garage in the South
Jersey area? Or a source for a rebuilt 1500 engine?

Oh yeah...after Friday, 8/9 my email address will be kcollins@stevens-tech.edu
