Randy-

They switched away from the "Banjo" rear end on the MGBGT, due to the 
fact that it was noisy.  Wasn't a problem in the roadster - enuf other 
noises to mask the sound.  The quiter GT on the other hand was a 
potential problem.  Shortly therafter, the switch was made across the 
board, to simplfy parts sourcing.
