I've had this happen.  Your motor is siezing up.  It's not there yet..but 
it's not far away.  My recollection was that you can open this motor and 
lube it. I chose to replace mine.  Also, they are position sensitive.  The 
casing seam is to face down as I recall to prevent moisture from entering 
the motor.

Dear All!

I have a dodgy fan motor on my 1980 MGB. I got it to work, but it seems
to draw vast amounts of current, causing the cut out to kick in.

If I disconect it, the other fan seems to work O.K.

Any ideas as to what to do to reduce the current, or what might be
causing the problem?

Also one headlight only works of full beam (sealed unit). Do they have
independant elements, or can this be caused by an electical fault.
