I'd look to the rear drums.  Either loose, or perhaps the retaining
spring is broken.  This would explain the seizing brakes as well as the
*clunk*.  You should be able to reach around a see if you can get any
wiggle out of the drums (Release the handbrake, leave it in gear,
chock the wheels).  As to the loose brake shoes...  You'll have to
get the wheel off and the drum off.  Maybe it's time to get that
cheap $15 socket set to keep in the trunk...
